From early 1996 until July 2011, I worked for The Cat Fanciers' Association, Inc. It was a "work from home" position, so I worked remotely on the internet and through email correspondence, telephone or conference calls. I maintained their 1,000+ page web site, including a multi-year show calendar, plus answered hundreds of daily emails as their customer service representative.
In addition, I asssisted numerous CFA Committees with their projects and presentations. I designed an additional 6 web sites for their various endeavors, including one dedicated to children; developed their first Public Relations Media Kit and a Club Media Kit; wrote press releases and worked closely with their Director of Marketing & Public Relations, the Business Development Committee, and the Outreach and Education Committee, as well as with their corporate partner representatives.
I was instrumental in setting up, maintaining and contributing to CFA's social media sites - @CFAcatlover on Twitter, and the Cat Fanciers' Association page and open group on Facebook.
I also developed and edited an online magazine, Fanc-e-Mews, for 10 years.
The position with CFA ended when new management decided to move in a different direction.
I currently work under contract to CFA clubs by officiating as a judge at cat shows worldwide. My travels around the globe (to over 17 countries) have made it imperative that I be capable of finding attractive airfares and making the necessary arrangements for visits to foreign countries, i.e. visa applications, etc.
Prior to working for CFA, I worked for several years as a database consultant - designing and programming relational databases.
I am an accomplished writer, and have published over 75 articles in various magazines and cat fancy Yearbooks. I possess excellent writing, grammar, punctuation, spelling and editing skills.
Karen is highly professional, pays attention to all details, expedites productivity and contributes more quickly than anyone I have ever worked with. Karen always outperforms expectations and is a pleasure to work with.
